I've had these creeps call me a couple times. I have to wonder...it's illegal to pretend to be a R.C.M.P. police officer. If they are telling people they are coming to arrest you are they not pretending to be the RCMP? They haven't really called the RCMP so by telling you that you are about to be arrested by them and that they are coming to your house seems to be a close call to actually breaking the law themselves. I think the RCMP should follow through with these numbers they are asking people to call and think about filing charges.

My mother received a phone call from these people two days ago and it was unbelievable the extent to which they used their threat and intimidation tactics to try and scare my mother. They have thick Indian accents and say "your call is being recorded." My mother put me on the phone with them because she gets easily frightened and they use tax jargon and cited all these Tax Acts to say that my mother was in violation of them. When I asked them why we never received any letters about this before, they said, "You're lucky you're just getting a phone call about this, otherwise we normally send the RCMP." Anytime I tried to question them about how do I verify the legitimacy of their call and or make sure you're calling from the CRA, the person with a thick Indian accent said, "OK, if you don't want to work to resolve this issue outside the court, we can send the RCMP over with an arrest warrant."This guy also gave a so-called batch number. I finally hung up on them and they called back two minutes later saying, "We are sending the RCMP over with two female police officers to arrest your mom." I then called the local police division who confirmed what I thought that these people were scammers. These people are dangerous! They mess with your mind and actually make you begin to wonder if you are in fact in violation of any tax fraud and use scare tactics to try and get you to wire transfer them money. The CRA WOULD NEVER make a phone call like this. If you are in fact, in violation of any Tax Acts, the CRA will first attempt to send you registered mail to give you a chance to respond. They would never resort to scare tactics like this! They will normally target senior citizens of South Asian descent especially because they know how vulnerable they can be. Please spread this message to put an end to this scam!

I got the same call but knew that was a scam. I called them back I could hear others talking with the same Indian sounding English. They hung up on me. I kept Calling until one of them agreed to stop calling my number. Do Not Give Any Info.

i receive the same as other described the calleralmost everyday by 4:30 ,

same Indian accent and threatened RCMP at my door in 30 minutes. Seemed to have relevant personal information.

Also got the exact same call - sounded like an immigrant lady. Tried calling back, no one picked up. Noticed something was off. Did some verification on Google, I was lucky enough that no one picked up when I called back.

Received same voice mail as above, quite threatening and obviously reading from the exact same script. CRA would never do this, disregard and block the number on your phone if you are able to do so. It appears this is a cell number that originates from the US and I'm pretty sure the CRA doesn't make calls from there.

Recorded message: Claimed to be from Canada Revenue, about an urgent legal matter...threats and intimidation. Indian accent and speech mannerism. Said I should call back IMMEDIATELY to avoid legal action. and my social security number will be flagged

I received a phone call from this number , indian accent, threatening message, telling that is calling from Canada Revenue Agency.

Same threat as above 2 people, from a recorded message. Sounds like the same voice as well.

claims to be security officer for Canada revenue services says have to call immediately otherwise will secure social insurance number...very serious matter. he has eastern Indian accent..very threatening call.
